The Indiana Smoke Divers will be hosting a FREE IFD-exclusive training session on Wednesday, August 5th, from 08:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the IFD Training Grounds (9050 E. 33rd St., Indianapolis, IN 46235).

This event is designed for any IFD firefighter who is considering attending Smoke Diver, wants to better understand the program, or is simply curious about what we do. Whether you’re actively preparing for the 2027 class or just exploring the possibility, this is an excellent opportunity to experience Smoke Diver training in a no-pressure environment.
Throughout the day, participants will:
- Learn about the Indiana Smoke Diver program and course expectations
- Experience portions of morning PT and the Smoke Diver obstacle course
- Receive instructions on search techniques
- Participate in practical search drills to apply those skills in realistic scenarios
- Ask questions and interact with IFD graduates
The goal is to provide a fun, productive, and informative day that helps firefighters better understand the program and begin preparing for success.
