If you, a fellow firefighter, or a family member needs someone to talk with confidentially, please get in touch with any Firefighter Support Group team member.

All team members have agreed to and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality with anyone to whom they provide peer support. This program only maintains credibility by maintaining the confidence of our firefighters. All members of the Firefighter Support Group are volunteers. There is no compensation, flex time, or overtime for participation.  Anyone interested in participating can contact Brad Morris for more information at 317-498-6626.

This confidential service is available free of charge to IFD firefighters. For more information about the program, download their flier, visit their website, or call their office at 463-273-2093. Please take advantage of this service and the SHIELD app if you need assistance with the following (but not limited to):

  • General Mental Health
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • PTSD
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Sleep/Insomnia

First Things First

This is a 12-step recovery support group for first responders. Meetings are held WEDNESDAYS at 6:30pm at the Union Hall – Local 416 at 748 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204 in the Upstairs Chief’s Conference Room.
