PEHP
The Post Employment Health Plan (PEHP) is an employee benefit plan that provides employees with tax-free reimbursement of medical insurance premiums upon separation of service or retirement.
To be eligible to participate in PEHP, a firefighter must have a full bank of vacation (312 hours / 13 days) and have had fewer than three sick leave occurrences in the previous twelve-month period.
Firefighters who have more than 312 hours in their vacation bank will automatically have vacation time turned into PEHP.
See General Order 2.02 for more information.
PEHP NOTE!
1. You will not be allowed to put days into your PEHP during vacation bidding.
2. A firefighter may declare up to 96 vacation hours to be put into PEHP.
3. Once the PEHP declaration form has been submitted, you will not be able to make changes.
HSA
For 2024, members who will be enrolled in the Anthem CDHP w/ HSA will have the option to contribute the cash value of up to 4 days (96 hours) of vacation time into their HSA.
- Any firefighter may declare up to 48 hours into HSA.
- Firefighters with more than 312 hours may declare up to 96 hours into HSA.
